Happy New Year,

This greeting has always been a trigger for optimism, giving a sense of closure while celebrating our prior triumphs and looking forward to the future. More than any time in recent memory, this need for reawakening comes at a critical time. 2020 challenged us all, forcing us to find new ways to learn, work, eat, drink, entertain, and perhaps most importantly connect and engage. Despite these challenges, we’ve learned to adapt. This year has taught us to redefine our relationships, slow life down, enjoy smaller moments, and gain a greater appreciation for the improbability of our own existence.

Drive has made it through 2020 thanks to an incredible support system. We started this business on a whim in a small garage in Sonoma County, possibly after one too many post-harvest IPAs. Along the way, we’ve learned to run a business, sort grapes, organize our books, clean a tank, build a website, and finally grow grapes and make wines that we can be proud of. No matter how hard we work as business owners, the success in fulfilling this passion project will always be determined by our support system. This year has taught us that no matter what gets thrown our way, we have the fortitude to persevere and most importantly a strong foundation of support from which to build success. With you all behind us, this is just the beginning.

The future looks bright for Drive Wines. 2021 brings the release of 3 new wines; a Rosé of Pinot Noir from Quan Vineyard in Carneros, an organic dry-farmed Syrah from Canihan Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA, and the latest iteration of our double gold medal-winning Zinfandel from Puccioni Ranch in the Dry Creek Valley. As we begin to see light at the end of the tunnel, we look forward to welcoming you back to our annual open house and seeing you at local events. We are also excited to announce that this spring, we will be joining the tasting room at Locals in Geyserville as their newest winery addition! We’ve made it through a tough year, a victory in and of itself, but the real victory comes when we can share a glass of wine with each and every one of you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for supporting us this year and throughout the years. We hope you all have a safe, healthy, and happy new year.

Cheers to the end of 2020 and better days ahead!

John & Tom
